Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Organize, scrape, prewash, lift and rack items to be washed, set up and operate pan washing machine, store items, maintain sanitary work area. Requires the physical ability to stoop, crouch, finger, reach, grasp, walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly. Task requires the visual ability to read cleaning compound labels, directions, visually inspect pots and pans for cleanliness, etc. Task requires the ability to use mechanical pan machine, scrapers, pans soak dish rack, cleaning compounds, water spray nozzle, and garbage disposal. Task exposes employee to various working conditions such as steam heat, noise, chemical cleaning supplies, etc. Task requires ability to receive, comprehend, follow, and provide oral instructions and information and to read, comprehend, follow, and provide written instructions and information.
2. Sweep, mop and scrub floors, wash walls, and ceilings throughout food service areas. 3. Clean greasy or soiled food service areas and equipment including but not limited to tops of refrigerators and ovens, motors, air filters, dirt system, vents, walls and ceilings, etc. 4. Clean, renovate, and renew floor surfaces and finishes including carpet maintenance; perform other cleaning duties including, but not limited to, cleaning food service equipment, windows, ceiling fixtures, etc.; change light bulbs/tubes; clean and resupply restrooms. Requires the physical ability to stoop, bend, crouch, reach, stretch, push, pull, climb, balance, walk, stand, kneel, grasp, reach and clean overhead for extended periods of time, etc. Task requires the visual ability to read label directions, perceive depth, etc. Task requires the ability to use electrical buffers, dust mops, brooms, ladders, goggles, masks, gloves, chemical cleaning supplies, mops and buckets, manual wringers, brushes, etc. Task exposes employee to various working conditions such as a close area for a few hours during work shift, vibration, chemical cleaning supplies, atmospheric changes, etc. Task requires the ability to receive, comprehend, follow, and provide oral instructions and information and to read, comprehend, follow, and provide written instructions and information.
5. Dispose of trash, refuse and waste materials; clean refuse containers and areas. Requires the physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, walk, stand, push, pull several times during a work shift, and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Task requires the visual ability to read labels and directions, perceive depth, etc. Task requires the ability to use garden hose and nozzle, trash containers, mechanical industrial trash compactor, gloves, etc. Employee complies with University Waste Management procedures. Task exposes employee to outside environmental conditions and chemicals. Task requires ability to receive, comprehend, follow, and provide oral instructions and information and to read, comprehend, follow, and provide written instructions and information, and understand and apply universal precautions.
6. Lock and unlock food service areas to ensure security. 7. Obtain and deliver supplies and materials as necessary. Requires the physical ability to stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull and grasp items, lift arms overhead and stack stock 6' high, operate flat bed skid, dolly, various carts several times during work shift, and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly. Task requires the ability to write food amounts and the visual ability to read labels, directions and warnings, distinguish color, perceive depth, etc. Task exposes employee to inside and outside environmental conditions, including freezer conditions. Task requires ability to receive, comprehend, follow, and provide oral instructions and information and read, comprehend, follow, and provide written instructions and information, lists, and labels. 8. Train and direct student personnel as assigned. 9. Maintain correct safety and sanitation standards. 10. Lift heavy objects as needed.
11. Receive, store, inventory and issue food supplies and equipment as assigned, involves lifting heavy objects and reading, counting and recording data.
12. Remove, arrange, replace and/or move dining furniture and food service equipment as necessary. Requires the physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp several times during work shift, and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, up to 20 pounds of force constantly. Task requires employee to work with dining tables, chairs, various pieces of kitchen, cooking, and/or storage carts, etc. Task exposes employee to inside environmental conditions. Task requires ability to receive, comprehend, follow, and provide oral instructions and information and read, comprehend, follow, and provide written instructions and information, room arrangement diagrams and labels.
13. Assist with dishwashing and storage.
14. Date and price stock items as needed. Requires the physical ability to stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp during work shift, and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Task requires employee to work with flat bed skid with dolly, 2-wheel cart, marking pens, 2-wheel barrel cart, mechanical industrial trash compactor, etc. Task requires the visual ability to read pricing sheets, numbers, dates of different type size, distinguish color, and perceive depth. Task exposes employee to inside and outside environmental conditions, atmospheric conditions, etc. Task requires the mental ability to use basic math skills such as counting, reading a scale and use a basic calculator.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
