Position Summary
The Department of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in public economics for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teach and advise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Develop a vibrant research program.
Contribute to the intellectual life of the department.
Contribute to the department, college and university through service.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Ph.D. is required. Degree must be conferred by time of appointment (August 2026).

Candidates should show promise of significant scholarship and ability to teach at both the undergraduate and Ph.D. levels.

UIC faculty are expected to carry out their responsibilities in person and onsite as part of a vibrant and collegial on-campus community
