UMD History Continuous Pool Search

The History Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth seeks applicants for our continuous History hiring pool. Courses may be offered in an in-person, online or hybrid format.

Term contracts only; positions and course offerings contingent on demand and funding. Being a member of the pool does not ensure a contract will be offered.

Required Qualifications:

• For Adjunct Instructor (9404A)
  • Master's degree in History or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• For Adjunct Assistant Professor (9403A) if they hold a terminal degree or Ph.D. in History
• Two years of teaching at the collegiate level
• Evidence of strong written communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups
  

Pay Range:

• Adjunct Instructor: $42,000.00 - $52,713.00 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
• Adjunct Assistant Professor: $45,481.00 - $52,713.00 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

While our salary ranges provide a framework, it is important to note that most of the time, the initial pay may not reach the maximum of the range. This approach ensures that compensation reflects the value and unique contributions of each candidate while maintaining equity within our organization.
