What we expect
What we expect - Description of the tasks:
- Customer Applications Engineer: Serves as a strategic liaison between our customers, their development and production teams, and our internal experts. Guides projects from initial concept ideation through prototype development to full-scale production. Maintain robust relationships with customers through regular, clear communication and proactive project updates.
- Design and Development: Create and develop automotive lighting components and assemblies for Sylvania Automotive. Product development includes headlights, taillights, interior lighting, fixtures, and other optical systems.
- PCBA layout: Design and layout high-speed, multilayer PCBs using simulation software. Translate schematics into PCB layouts, ensuring signal integrity, thermal management and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Design verification: Conduct feasibility studies to ensure designs meet functional requirements.
- Modeling and Drawings: Utilize CAD software for freeform surface modeling and create detailed 2D drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Project Management: Manage program timelines and ensure projects are completed on schedule. Work closely with cross-functional teams, designers, and manufacturing teams
- Manufacturing support: Support to production teams on an as-needed basis to increase material efficiency and prevent quality issues.
Who we are looking for
Who we are looking for - Requirements to be met by the person:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field. 3 to 5 years of experience in lighting product design, systems engineering, with a preference for experience in optical design.
- CAD Software: Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools for creating detailed product drawings.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with strong presentation skills
- Travel - Willingness to travel up to 20% of the year to the Manufacturing location in Hillsboro, NH.
