The Biostatistics Center is seeking a full-time Lead Biostatistician, Manager to work at a data coordinating center for large-scale clinical trials providing scientific and technical leadership in the management, design and conduct of a large scale, multi-center medical research project. The position will serve as co-investigator and management is one of its primary roles; will participate as a member of a team of academic biostatisticians who collaborate in the conduct of major clinical trials research. The position participates on Committees and performs Committee work.
Duties most typically performed by the Lead Biostatistician, Manager include leveraging their relevant professional experience to the following:
- Manages project, designs studies, and collaborates with other study key staff throughout the process.
- Collaborates with medical investigators on development and application of methodological research in collaboration with Center faculty.
- Oversees project development from beginning to end. Directs the coordination of tasks and workflow of a multi-disciplinary team of programmers and researchers to ensure deliverables are completed efficiently.
- Performs statistical analysis of data using advanced and complex statistical procedures using statistical software (
SAS and R). May analyze and report on independent research.
- Supervises statisticians performing statistical analysis, as well as staff who oversee data management, quality control of study databases and study websites; and the exporting of study databases to the sponsor's data repository for completed analysis projects.
- Oversees study activities, such as the development and implementation of protocol, as well as communications with sites to coordinate and document resolution of major study issues; oversees research study documents, manual of operations and standardized procedures, as well as preparation of study reports.
- Writes abstracts, posters and reports. Collaborates with study investigators to prepare oral and poster presentations, as well as with writing committees to write manuscripts for major publications in leading health, medical and other journals, presenting analysis results.
- Assists and/or may obtain new grants and manage research project budget.
- Maintains daily communication/interaction with onsite personnel to receive training, assignments; determines specifications and complete assignments; conveys status of work and other questions and test results. Maintains intermittent communication with Biostatistics Center Systems Support staff and Administrative staff relating to systems and administrative details.
- Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a MS or
MPH in Biostatistics, Statistics, Health Data Science, Epidemiology, or related field, plus 10 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree in a relevant area of study plus 8 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience must be progressive Master's level or equivalent in Statistics, biostatistics, health data science, or related field, and must include supervisory experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. |

-Strong knowledge of statistical software such as

-Strong oral and written English language communications skills.
-Supervisory experience.
