Location: Hybrid - Must Live and Work in Michigan

In-Office Requirement - One day per work week



Purpose: The Partnership Coordinator supports, connects, andaligns priorities and Division of Immunization activities across multiple state and local coalitions, councils, and partner organizations. The position will engage with a multitude of existing partners including the Immunization Alliance of Michigan and Parent Information Network, as well as universities, foundations and provider groups focused on reducing the burden of VPD, immunization education, and access. The Partnership Coordinator works closely with the Michigan Advisory Council on Immunizations (MACI) to support the council and member engagement. The position works closely with public health leadership and plays a critical role ensuring aligned strategy, messaging, and expanded community engagement across partnerships throughout the immunizations landscape.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with division and bureau staff to develop and implement written plans and strategies to develop, maintain, and engage with agencies, organizations, and community groups.
  • Assess immunization ecosystem from a local, state, and national scope to identify opportunities for the Division to improve, align, and expand partnerships.
  • Engage with current partners through regular meetings and support of shared activities.
  • Identify opportunities for alignment of strategy and activities across existing and potential partnerships.
  • Provide organizational and administrative support for the Michigan Advisory Council on Immunizations.
  • Assist with quarterly and ad hoc council meeting preparation and follow-up, including creation and distribution of agendas, minutes and related materials.
  • Ensure council website and all council documents and materials are updated and organized.
  • Work closely with health education and communications staff to identify opportunities for expanded community engagement in immunization strategies and activities.
  • Assist with writing grant proposals and creation of both internal and external reports, coordinating grant application submissions and special reports.
  • Assist as directed with special projects related to bureau initiatives (e.g., strategic planning, workforce development, and employee engagement).
  • Attend cross-division and bureau workgroups as assigned.
  • Always represent the best interests of MPHI and MDHHS.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Qualification/Requirements



Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field.



Experience: Two or more years of professional experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility in public health, project management, or program evaluation preferred.

  • Proven exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, administrators, program and support staff, and community and business groups in a state government environment.
  • Strong cultural competency with the ability to work effectively in an environment with diverse cultures, multiple perspectives, and competing needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with email/internet browser software.



Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Must have reliable home internet connection. A valid vehicle operator's license to attend off-site/in-person meetings, conferences, and trainings. Viewing a CRT or VDT screen over 75% of the time. Position may occasionally require work outside of normal business hours.



RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS. The Partnership Coordinator is a key member of the State's response to infectious disease threats. The candidate will provide support to internal and external partners, as well as staff at all levels of the Division. The position will help ensure that the best evidence-based practices are being implemented across all Division programs to help protect the health of Michigan residents.
