Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): AZ, FL, GA, NC and TX.

This position leads architecture and technical design activities in support of specific solution development projects. Works closely with business units and associates to identify development solutions that are cost-effective, efficient, and meet business needs. Collaborates on the technical design of artifacts, ensuring compliance and documentation of all applicable standards. Ensures quality results and timely completion of project tasks. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance on the design, interface requirements, and technology of developed solutions


Responsibilities

  • Solution Architect - strong leader and trusted advisor who understands business needs, draws detailed technical designs, provides thought leadership around solution scalability, security, and performance. Acts as vertical liaison with Enterprise Architecture to follow/comply with their recommended architecture best practices.
  • Application Portfolio Management - collaborates with the enterprise architects in Application Portfolio Management, identifying technical debt, developing conceptual and logical architecture diagrams, and documenting key architecture decisions in ADRs (Architecture Decision Records).
  • Solution Development - Leads a team of associates on assigned solution development projects. Recommends technology solutions, an application programming and integration solution through research on alternative options. As needed, troubleshoots deployment issues, develops programs, integrates solutions, and performs other tasks related to technical design.
  • Consultation - Provides consultation to the business unit, management, and associates on all phases of integration systems development and processes. Acts as a trusted advisor on strategies and approaches for overall integration of technology components.

  • Project Coordination - Ensures project tasks are completed on time and with a high degree of quality. Collaborates with other team members on detailed application design, development, and integration testing.
  • Technical Expertise - Maintains a strong understanding of available technology, tools, and designs, in order to provide consultation and leverage technologies within the Bank. Stays updated on technology trends. Offers direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff.
  • Plan, coordinate, document, analyze, design, review enhancements.
  • Provide expertise, mentorship, process improvements, strategy and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to security requirements and technical standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Support pre-project efforts and assist with delivery time estimates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of progressive experience in IT disciplines.
  • Experience developing IT solution strategy with multiple stakeholders. At least 5 years of direct architecture experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in at least two of the following: Programming, database/analytics, integration/middleware, infrastructure/cloud, and security.
  • Experience in solution design principles, system development methodologies, and software life cycles.
  • Experience coordinating vendors and utilizing excellent communication skills to work across different partner/organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Financial service/Banking industry as it pertains to payments, foreign exchange, core banking.
  • Experience in architecting and modernizing payments and core banking solutions for the financial service/Banking industry.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills. Excellent influencing, consultative and relationship management
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations, system development methodologies and tools, and IT systems framework and standards
  • Experience leading technical teams and with multiple architecture disciplines.
  • Programming experience with contemporary languages (Java, micro services, Node.js, and shell scripting).
  • Experience in middleware technologies (Kafka, Sterling, MQ, SFTP).
  • Hands-on experience in cloud-native architectures (AWS, OpenShift, Azure).
  • Expertise in more than one infrastructure technology area (network, mainframe, and distributed platforms, and databases).
  • Experience documenting requirements through interviews and JAD sessions.
  • Visual modeling using ArchiMate is a plus, certification in IT architecture is preferred.
  • Information architecture, data modeling, and designing models.
  • Modern practices around data ingestion, publishing, and master data management.
