Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary
Provide animal care via feed, water, walk, transport, restrain, groom. Stocking of area and supplies, maintain clinical records, assure facility cleanliness. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Assist senior veterinary staff with animal care.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Properly handle and restrain various species of animals, understanding of basic animal health terminology, effective communication skills.
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
-Sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day on hard floor surfaces.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately work with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects/containers/machinery.
- Wear all protective gear including mask, gloves, gown, hairnet, safety goggles etc.
- Work with wound care equipment, cleaning solutions, and other materials to prevent infections.

Duties/Responsibilities
Patient Management: manages all aspects of the patient's treatment and assisting Registered Veterinary Technicians in nursing care. This includes, but is not limited to, physical examinations, phlebotomy and sample collection needs, all medication and fluid administration, and crucial thinking for all aspects of case management. Informs attending clinician on any needs, changes or decomposition of the patient's condition in an informed and timely manner. Provide intermediate animal care to patients: walk, water, feed, transport, restrain, groom. Lifting up to 50 lbs. or above.
