Backend Developer

As a back-end developer, you know that a good site or system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We're looking for a back-end developer with the software engineering skills it takes to help identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for our clients.

You will need experience in developing J2EE applications using REST or JSON, Spring, SpringBoot, and J2EE. You will design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications to support business requirements.You will follow approved Agile life cycle methodologies, create design documents and perform program coding. You will also resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

You Have:

  • Experience with the Java programming language, technologies, and frameworks, such as J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA or Hibernate, JDBC, Web Services, Java, and data formats like XML, XSLT, and JSON

  • Experience with Git and repository platforms, such as GitHub and Bitbucket, and with build tools, such as Maven and IDEs like IntelliJ or VS Code

  • Experience with database design, including schema creation (DDL), SQL queries (DML), and stored procedures

  • Experience with production support, issue resolution, and documenting technical design and implementation details

  • Experience designing and performing unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews

  • Experience with AWS services

  • Public Trust

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence, or other project and issue tracking software

  • Experience with application front-end languages and frameworks such as HTML, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions

  • Experience with the Python programming language

  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks, such as React, Ember, EXT, Angular, Bootstrap

  • Experience with performance and profiling tools, and debugging on any preferred IDE

  • Experience with NoSQL databases

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Possession of excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
