The Opportunity

The Engagement Manager serves as the strategic and tactical lead for all internal and external speaking engagements for the Vice President (VP)& Head of Population Health and Leadership Team (LT) of the Population Health, Center of Excellence (CoE) Team. The Population Health CoE is responsible for driving operational excellence and measuring impact for all patients we serve, which includes delivery of Genentech's population health strategy, supporting new initiatives, and driving thought leadership and authentic partnerships. This role includes a strategic thinker with strong attention to detail, the Engagement Manager excels at operationalizing processes that amplify the CoE's impact while ensuring governance and efficiency.

The Engagement Manager will report to the Delivery & Operations Lead. Responsibilities include: lead the planning, logistics, and execution of internal and external engagements for the VP and leadership team, drive Genentech's visible through executive visibility strategy including media engagement and leadership presence and partnerships with key industry organizations.

The Engagement Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with Population Health, CoE team members, cross-functional partners, public affairs and external groups to develop messaging around strategic goals and initiatives, presentation materials and coordinate engagement logistics. Engagements include internal events as well as external partner events such as virtual programs, sponsorships, and award ceremonies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and tailor communications materials, including speeches, talking points, and scripts, for various internal and external audiences and events.

  • Support the VP and leadership team by preparing them for media engagements and executive meetings, collaborating with Public Relations and Legal.

  • Manage the logistics of the VP's presence and participation in external events, including scheduling, communication with organizers, and preparing briefing documents.

  • Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge of company policies, strategies, and communication efforts to develop content and speaking notes effectively.

  • Coordinate with the VP's EA for managing speaking engagements and provide updates to executive leadership.

  • Manage the VP's in-person event appearances, including scouting locations and gathering on-site information.

  • Improve engagement operations through efficient procedures and systems, provide administrative support, and build positive relationships with partners.

Who you are

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in writing, editing and project management

  • 3+ years of experience in Digital Marketing.

  • Track record of working with senior executives with a "high touch" approach to inspire, influence and deliver effectively.

  • Experience in leading cross functional teams and delivering programmatic outcomes through others.

  • Ideal candidates will be highly-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong learning agility.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Multicultural marketing or talent marketing

  • Graduate Level or higher degree, preferably in Population Health

  • Foundational knowledge of leading population health topics and industry practices, with passion for advancing population health as a business and societal imperative

Travel Requirements

The position is located in South San Francisco. The position requires up to 50% time traveling.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $141,700 - 263,100. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
