Operations - Trailblazers Manager

Genentech
United States, California, South San Francisco
Oct 20, 2025
The Position

The Opportunity

The Operations Manager - Trailblazers will serve as a key connection node for the Population Health Center of Excellence (CoE), ensuring a unified voice and alignment across all internal and external engagements, as well as a dedicated program operations lead for Genentech's Trailblazers initiative, a flagship effort to advance population health efforts in priority markets.

Reporting directly to the Director, Delivery & Operations, this role will orchestrate and align Population Health CoE engagements, ensuring that internal and external touchpoints are coherent, strategically sound, and consistently reflect Genentech and Roche's Population Health and Population Science priorities. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing (and standing up where needed) the operational infrastructure that ensures Trailblazers strategies, partnerships, and market activations are executed with rigor and accountability.

This position requires strong cross-functional coordination and judgement, project management skills and discipline, vendor oversight, and the ability to orchestrate high-impact engagements in a complex, matrixed environment. The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker, experienced in strategic planning, building impactful relationships, project management and orchestration, with a strong eye for quality, consistency, and enterprise-level impact.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement Planning & Orchestration

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-impact internal events and Trailblazers convenings (in-person and virtual), including agenda creation, material preparation, note-taking, action tracking, and integrating updates into enterprise communications.

Narrative & Messaging Alignment

  • Collaborate with Communications and functional partners to develop and maintain consistent Population Health and Population Science materials, ensuring high-quality framing, positioning, and presentation across all Trailblazers and CoE engagements, and supporting clear, timely communication of Trailblazers updates, progress, and lessons learned within Population Health and enterprise channels.

Trailblazers Program & Project Management

  • Provide end-to-end operations support for the Trailblazers initiative, including roadmap development, milestone tracking, resource planning, and project management to ensure timely delivery and measurable results.

  • Maintain and refine operations infrastructure, coordinate and track workstreams, serve as the primary point of contact for Trailblazers operations, and track peer activations and market trends to inform strategies.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage multiple external vendors (consulting, analytics, communications, measurement) to ensure seamless execution of Trailblazers deliverables, aligning vendor outputs with project priorities and timelines, and monitoring performance and budgets for quality and compliance.

Coordination & Alignment Across CoE

  • Act as a coordination hub across Population Health functions to reduce duplication and reinforce coherence, ensuring CoE team readiness for key enterprise events, cross-functional forums, and industry-facing engagements in partnership with Business Operations, Medical Affairs, and External Affairs, and integrating Trailblazers milestones into CoE leadership reporting and governance with Delivery & Ops colleagues.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Partner with Measurement and DDA colleagues to define and track KPIs for Trailblazers and related engagements, providing updates to leadership on outcomes, progress, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
