As Director of Pharmacy Distribution, you'll take the lead in running one of our high-volume, automated pharmaceutical distribution centers within the Central Fill Pharmacy network.

You'll be responsible for the full scope of operations, driving excellence in safety, quality, service, and cost. You'll also help shape a culture of continuous improvement, team engagement, and patient-first thinking. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide strategic initiatives, streamline workflows, and work closely with cross-functional teams to help us deliver on our mission.

What You'll Do:

  • Track Performance: Keep a close eye on KPIs like Cost per Script, Scripts per Hour, Safety Index, and employee engagement - and use them to drive results.
  • Lead Operations: Oversee daily production, resource planning, and prioritization to meet and exceed distribution goals.
  • Ensure Safety & Accuracy: Make sure everything we dispense is secure, accurate, and compliant with all regulatory standards.
  • Drive Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve engineering processes, customer support, cost structure, and overall quality. Build business cases to support investments and upgrades.
  • Grow the Team: Attract and develop talent at all levels. Be a role model for McKesson's ICARE and ILEAD values and build a culture where people thrive.
  • Coach Leaders: Support your leadership team with regular feedback, development plans, and ongoing coaching.
  • Manage Reporting: Create and share performance reports and analytics with customers on a regular basis.
  • Keep Everyone Aligned: Communicate clearly across all levels of the organization to ensure everyone's moving in the same direction.
  • Oversee Vendors & Budgets: Manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, and expenses to stay on budget and deliver value.
  • Lead Training & Compliance: Build and maintain training programs that meet McKesson's standards and keep us audit-ready.
  • Optimize Space & Processes: Look for ways to improve layout, productivity, and efficiency across the facility.
  • Support Systems: Lead pharmacy system installs and troubleshoot tech issues with internal teams and vendors.
  • Plan Staffing: Use labor modeling to forecast needs and support volume shifts with smart staffing strategies.

What You Bring:

  • Experience leading large-scale operations with a focus on safety, quality, and service
  • Strong background in pharmaceutical distribution and automation systems
  • Solid financial skills - budgeting, forecasting, and building ROI-driven business cases
  • Familiarity with FDA, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • A passion for developing people and building inclusive, high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with tools like Excel, Access, JD Edwards, and WMS
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills - able to influence and align teams
  • Confidence navigating change and leading transformation
  • A customer-first mindset and experience managing external reporting and relationships

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $105,600 - $176,000
