| Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW  This position is a technical management position reporting to the Plant Technical Manager (PTM). The primary focus of this position is to provide leadership in the areas of safety, reliability and maintenance of utility and building maintenance systems; specific areas include ammonia and glycol refrigeration systems, CO2/Nitrogen Bulk Delivery, HVAC, compressed air, boilers, and all Process Safety Managed (PSM) areas.  Lead with safetyDevelop a department strategic plan for facility and utility systemsDevelop and manage parts, services and wage labor budget for facility and utility assets Develop and manage training budget for all utility techniciansProvide leadership in the development and training of new utility technicians on Level CardsProvide daily direction setting (DDS) leadership for utility leads and technicians (ENTRY, OPERATIONAL and TECHNICAL)Provide leadership to facility/utility planner in utilization of Maintenance Management System (Maximo) to ensure timely and accurate completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance work orders Provide plant emergency response leadership as the on-site Hazardous Team Coordinator (HTC) or Incident Commander (IC)Provide leadership to the utilities team through safe (simple, intermediate, and complex) pump-downs of the ammonia refrigeration systemProvide Process Safety Management (PSM) leadership and guidance (accountable to the PSM subcommittee) in the implementation of the 14 PSM elements (SOPs, MOCs, PSSRs, PHA's, Mechanical Integrity, etc)Manage daily coverage by coordinating time off for technicians ensuring staffing levels in compliance with GMI 235.1 minimal staffing requirements for complex plant engine room operationsCoordinate/lead team meetings and safety trainings for shift team as requiredDevelop and manage KPIs for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities to meet department goalsUtilize Maintenance Management System (Maximo) to manage all work with appropriate detail (Parts, Labor, Resources, Description of work)Manage reactive maintenance (RM) calls by supporting and responding with urgency and accuracy while communicating root cause determinationsProvide leadership for capital project installations as well as maintenance, repair and replacement of all site facility equipment (boilers, air compressors, dehumidifiers, etc) and all ammonia refrigeration equipment MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  
 Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience5+ years of experience managing and developing teams within a manufacturing settingStrong communication skillsDemonstrated skills in servant leadership, problem solving, coaching and trainingStrong learning agility and ability to achieve technical mastery of systems and develop knowledge in othersUnderstanding and experience interacting with multiple business functions, including FSQ, HSE, operations, maintenance, logistics and engineeringStrong track record of adherence to process rigorAbility to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  
 Technical degree in industrial maintenance, engineering or related fieldAmmonia refrigeration certified (CARO, CIRO, CRST, CRES)Proficient understanding and practice of all COHE/LOTO, ARC Flash, and PPE policiesFamiliar with industrial controls and power distributionContinuing education in maintenance/technical skillsComputer Maintenance Management System experienceUnderstanding of P&ID's for Ammonia Refrigeration SystemsApplication of food system design and comply with A.I.B. guidelines for food safetyProficiency with continuous improvement tools (Root Cause Analysis, Why/Why)Proficiency with Boiler & Air Compressor Operation and MaintenanceProficiency with CO2/N2 Operation and Maintenance ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

 The salary range for this position is $93700.00 - $140700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
