This position will collect, prepare, process, calibrate, and analyze data associated with TLDs and SRDs to support the fleet nuclear dosimetry programs. Receives and processes routine or special dosimetry TLDs or SRDs to be inspected, calibrated, processed and data analyzed. Prepares and analyzes reports and data using highly specialized instruments, equipment, software and work process procedures. Utilizes various technologies to compile, manipulate, analyze, maintain data, and generate reports. Operates, calibrates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs various pieces of equipment. This position will be trained to operate DOC dosimetry software program, Sample Manager, Mirion calibration software program and Sentinel software program. The equipment/instruments, analysis, and software will vary from simple to highly sophisticated and complex. The majority of work must be performed in strict compliance with procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements and is subject to audit by company, state, or federal auditors. This position will be part of a small team that shares responsibility for managing the Harshaw thermoluminescent dosimeter/dosimeter of legal record (TLD/DLR) program and the self-reading electronic dosimeter (SRD) program for the nuclear fleet. This position will have lead dosimetry responsibility for at least one nuclear site. Specific daily duties may vary depending upon need. The successful candidate will perform various functions in a laboratory, potentially requiring work for prolonged periods in laboratory, environmental or nuclear plant conditions. This work must be performed in accordance to set procedures, National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation (NVLAP) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulatory requirements and is subject to audits by company or regulatory (State / Federal) auditors. This position will function in two areas of discipline: dosimetry and radiation protection. Nuclear Dosimetry Science Technician II This level requires, as a prerequisite, complete satisfactory qualification and performance as a Nuclear Dosimetry Science Technician I or equivalent skills. In addition, this position must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the job. Individual performs all tasks and functions under general supervision. Individual is capable of completing special assignments and projects with substantial independence. Job Responsibilities
