Position Summary/Department Summary:
Family Based Crisis Intervention (FBCI) is a short intervention developed at Boston Children's to avoid the need for psychiatric hospitalization. Originally designed for emergency departments, FBCI stabilizes suicidal adolescents and gives them and their families training and tools to safely manage crises at home. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time social worker to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical, and environmental difficulties.
  • Perform psychosocial and risk assessments, assign diagnoses, and develop and implement interventions and treatment plans.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of discharge and outpatient service plans.
  • Collaborate with the health care team and community agencies to coordinate treatment, ensure continuity of care, and connect patients to needed services.
  • Develop training materials and curricula for evidence-based interventions for youth at risk for suicide.
  • Train and educate staff in evidence-based interventions for suicide prevention, crisis response, and trauma-informed care.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate training programs that support the integration of best practices into daily clinical workflows.
  • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor and support colleagues in skill development, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, monitor and evaluate employee performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Master's degree in social work
Experience:
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with social service agencies and knowledge of social determinants of health preferred.
  • Expertise in family crisis intervention and trauma-informed care ideal.
  • Prior experience in training development, program implementation, or staff education strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual/bicultural/diverse candidates encouraged to apply; Spanish language skills a plus.

Licensure/Certifications:
  • LICSW in the state of Massachusetts

Schedule is primarily M-F, 8:30AM -5:00PM; flexibility with schedule with some evenings/weekends required

New hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
