Remote-US Only. Key Responsibilities: Serve as lead architect and technical authority across multiple product lines, including legacy systems and modern warehouse/logistics solutions. Own and evolve system architecture for scalability, maintainability, and performance. Lead post-failure diagnostics and remote debugging using core dumps, crash analysis, and breadcrumb tracing. Design and maintain build systems (Makefiles, ClearCase, CI/CD pipelines). Act as release and configuration manager, ensuring traceable and reproducible builds. Engage directly with customers to understand pain points and deliver impactful fixes. Mentor developers and guide cross-functional teams on technical strategy and execution. Collaborate with product management to align technical direction with business goals. Maintain and extend systems written in C/C++, Java, JavaScript, PROC, and Oracle PL/SQL. Use Unix command-line tools, shell scripting, and SSH for remote diagnostics and automation. Perform basic Oracle DBA tasks (e.g., start/stop DBs, import/export data, manage disk space). Must-Have Qualifications:* 15+ years of experience in software development, architecture, and debugging. Strong proficiency inC/C++andUnix/Linux command-line tools and APIs. Experience withOracle(basic DBA tasks, data import/export, instance management). Ability to debug complex systems post-failure without direct access to live environments. Familiarity withJavaorC#(object-oriented programming and enterprise systems). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor and lead technical teams. Willingness and ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly. Nice-to-Have Qualifications: Experience withClearCase/SVNor similar SCM tools. Familiarity withWindows internals(processes, threads, services, ACLs, registry). Knowledge ofPOSIX standardsand cross-platform compatibility challenges. Experience withMKS Toolkit,Cygwin,WSL, or similar UNIX-to-Windows compatibility layers. Understanding ofMKS NuTCRACKER Platformand UNIX API emulation on Windows. Experience withJavaScript,*PROC**, andOracle PL/SQL. Prior work inlogistics, manufacturing, or warehouse management systems. Exposure toDevOps practicesand CI/CD tooling. PTC carefully considers a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $100,000-175,000. The anticipated annual salary range encompasses both the base salary and the on-target incentive compensation that may be attained in this role. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
