Detailed Description

The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills and be a highly organized and responsive individual, capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. Our successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude; will be flexible and self-motivated, creative, and quality-oriented with attention to detail.

This position will report to the Water Stewardship Services Lead and contribute to building the water sustainability services at BC, including water conservation, and strategic planning for our Water Stewardship portfolio. This team member will work with leaders across the business to understand their objectives and find points of integration with sustainability priorities. In this position, the team member will work with private sector clients to support their water sustainability goals, including water conservation, strategic planning and watershed-level collaboration. The ideal candidate will have some background in private-public collaboration approaches for impactful sustainability projects, including a basic understanding of water resources, funding, drivers, and effective communication across diverse groups of stakeholders.

This position can work remotely and can be filled near any BC office with a preference of Denver.

Typical work areas could include:



  • Manage projects, and technical scopes related to water resources and stewardship.
  • Lead relevant teams on sustainability goal setting, data collection and tracking progress to plan.
  • Design and implement water stewardship and sustainability projects for a variety of private industries.
  • Perform tasks involving the following: data compilation and analysis, water balances, risk assessments, water use and reuse, sustainability reporting content and disclosures across multiple frameworks (e.g., CDP, GRI, SASB, etc.).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on the development and execution of strategic initiatives with internal/external peers.
  • Support the growth of specialty ESG consulting services, offered to key clients to support them on their own ESG transformation journey.
  • Work with internal and external resources to implement and drive results towards BC's Water Stewardship and resilience company strategy.
  • Support the development of external partnerships in the water stewardship, sustainability, and ESG arenas.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of technical documents including work plans, feasibility studies, water assessments, conservation strategies, watershed characterization and risk evaluations.
  • Assist in the development of internal and external tools, client presentations, conference presentations and publications .


Minimum Qualifications



  • B.S. degree in engineering or related science.
  • 8 years of related professional experience.
  • Strong interest in water resources and sustainability related work.
  • Experience in water management, sustainability, GHG standards protocols, energy and climate policy or global decarbonization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to support technical tasks and/or lead technical tasks and coordinate with supporting staff.
  • Driven and self-motivated with a high level of initiative and creative problem-solving skills
  • Flexible with work times to align with colleagues in different time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to champion and drive ideas/programs/solutions
  • Track record of on time delivery of deliverables with an attention to quality and detail
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail, a sense of urgency and a strong work ethic and dedication to consistently delivering quality work .
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are essential
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently and in team environments
  • Demonstrates advanced critical thinking, accountability, collaboration, communication, self-discipline, self-development, conflict resolution, and adaptability/flexibility skills.
  • Routinely involves in business development; actively participates in professional associations and prepares proposals with marketing staff.
  • Interacts with the client and external project team; leads project work and suggest improvements.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to travel, up to 40% of the time.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's in engineering or related science.
  • Foundational knowledge of ESG reporting with carbon accounting and water.
  • Ten+ years of related professional experience.


Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $106,000- $145,000
Location B: $117,000 - $160,000
Location C: $128,000- $174,000
