Department Description Within the scope of practice, theReliefPhysical Therapist at LPCHS Motion &GaitAnalysisLabhas responsibilities which include documentation of patient history, conducting a physical exam of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular impairments such as joint range of motion, selective motor control, and muscle strength, placement of reflective markers for 3D motion capture, placement of surface EMG electrode sensors, assisting with data collection, providing patient direction duringgaitanalysis to ensure patient safety and a successfulgaitevaluation. The motionlabphysical therapist also provides clinical documentation and interpretation of thegaitanalysis including observational video analysis, kinematic, kinetic, and EMGgaitanalysis, and standing postural balance evaluation. In addition, the motionlabphysical therapist provides physical therapy recommendations and works collaboratively with other multidisciplinary members of thegaitlabteam to provide a comprehensivegaitanalysis report that includes evidence-based treatment recommendations. Communicates well with patients, family and staff and contributes to the excellence of the clinicalgaitlabservice through participation in ongoing process improvement to provide comprehensive and concise evidence-basedgaitanalysis and treatment recommendations. Preference for candidates with pediatric and motion capture experience JOB SUMMARY This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job. Within the scope of practice, the Relief Physical Therapists at LPCHS provide intervention from infancy to adulthood to enhance performance and to optimize movement, development, and function. Under the guidance of Rehab Management, the Relief Physical Therapist performs physical therapy care and is responsible for all clinical aspects for patients including evaluation and treatment planning and progression. The Relief Physical Therapist provides physical or corrective rehabilitation or treatment of a variety of physical conditions to patients in order to achieve and maintain the highest functional level. Treatments include (but not limited to) the use of the physical, chemical, and other properties of heat, light, water, electricity, sound and massage, gait and transfer training, and active, passive, and resistive exercises. The Relief Physical Therapist may oversee and guide patient care responsibilities of Physical Therapy Interns, Physical Therapist Assistants and the duties of a Rehabilitation Aide. Determines rehab prognosis and implements the clinically indicated therapy plan of care. Determines the therapy diagnosis to address impairments and functional movement limitations. Selects and administers appropriate assessment and treatment techniques during all phases of the rehabilitation process.
