At RELI Group, our work is grounded in purpose. We partner with government agencies to solve complex challenges, improve public health, strengthen national security, and make government services more effective and efficient. Our team of over 500 professionals brings deep expertise and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes. Behind every solution is a group of experts who care deeply about impact-whether we're supporting data-driven decisions, modernizing systems or safeguarding critical programs. Position Summary: RELI Group is seeking a skilled Databricks Data Administrator to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Multidimensional Information Data Analytics System (MIDAS) Program. In this role, you will manage and optimize the Databricks platform across multiple environments to ensure availability, performance, governance, and compliance. You will serve as the primary administrator responsible for overseeing access control, job orchestration, workspace management, cost optimization, and integration with cloud-native services such as AWS and GitHub.
This role is ideal for professionals with deep knowledge of the Databricks ecosystem who can bridge platform operations, user support, and security compliance within a large-scale Data Lakehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage the Databricks workspace, clusters, pools, and compute policies across Dev, Test, and Prod environments
- Configure and maintain Unity Catalog, role-based access controls (RBAC), and permission models for users, groups, and service principals
- Monitor performance, storage usage, and job execution health to optimize cost and resource allocation
- Support Databricks Workflows orchestration and assist development teams in operationalizing batch and streaming jobs
- Manage Git integration (Databricks Repos), repository permissions, and CI/CD deployment processes across Databricks environments
- Provide operational support for jobs and pipelines, including incident resolution and root cause analysis
- Implement and maintain policies related to notebook versioning, secrets management, logging, and alerting
- Work closely with data engineers, DevOps, and security teams to support secure data sharing, metadata cataloging, and audit trail logging
- Manage credential passthrough, token lifecycles, cluster policies, and IP access lists in compliance with CMS and ARS 5.0 requirements
- Support automation of administrative tasks through Databricks REST APIs and Terraform
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in data platform administration, cloud operations, or DevOps roles
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Databricks workspaces in an enterprise environment
- Proficiency with Databricks administration, including cluster policies, pools, job monitoring, secrets, and Unity Catalog
- Strong knowledge of Databricks Workflows, CI/CD practices, and Git integration (GitHub preferred)
- Experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, IAM, and RDS
- Understanding of data lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and workspace governance best practices
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FISMA, CMS ARS 5.0, or NIST RMF
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) and REST APIs for automation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to support multi-team environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting CMS programs or familiarity with CMS Technical Reference Architecture (TRA)
- Experience managing Unity Catalog and supporting fine-grained access control for data objects
- Familiarity with data ingestion frameworks and monitoring platforms such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Azure Monitor
- Understanding of healthcare data formats (ACA, QHP, HICS, HIOS) and secure data handling practices
