Clinical Care & Case Management

  • Perform health assessments, histories, and physical exams for employees (pre-placement, return-to-work, fit-for-duty). Evaluate and treat workplace injuries/illnesses within scope of practice.Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests as needed.Prescribe medications (e.g., PEP, antibiotics, antivirals, vaccines, short-term treatments).

  • Provide ongoing follow-up and management for occupational exposures and injuries.Determine work restrictions and clearances

Infection Prevention & Exposure Management

  • Evaluate and manage needlestick/bloodborne pathogen exposures, airborne disease exposures (TB, COVID), and communicable disease incidents.Provide counseling and education for employees regarding PEP, infection control, and follow-up.Collaborate with Infection Prevention (IP) and Employee Health leadership on outbreak response.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Provide guidance to staff regarding clinical decision-making.Educate employees on health and safety

  • Provides Occupational Health Care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff

  • Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment

    programs.

  • Performs nursing functions independently.
  • Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires Master's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.

Licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse or Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

BCLS certification.
