APP - Emergency Medicine

APP ( NP or PA) position in busy 94,000+ visit Level 1 Trauma Center. Job responsibilities in all areas of Emergency Department: Main, Trauma, West, Peds, Triage. Shift incl days, mids, overnights, weekends & holidays. Shift differentials and productivity incentives. Very equitable and egalitarian scheduling. 10 Hours shifts; rotating; 24/7 coverage. Opportunity to work in other system EDs to increase professional development as well as to enhance work:life balance. Ideal candidate will have completed post-grad EM fellowship BUT will consider candidate with 1 yr of EM or
FM/IM with Urgent Care experience. Strong new grads with robust EM rotations and evaluations in school also considered.

Education:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program required.

Experience:Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/ department preferred.

Licensure/Certification:Current Nurse Practitioner ( NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) license required. DEA licensure required.AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced life support is preferred and is required for those who may use a defibrillator in their practice.

Other:Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Maintains open and supportive communications between all department members and other employees, patients and their family members.Commitment to continued professional development.
