We Require
Two years of nursing experience in a community setting, public health setting, school, physician's office, or other relevant nursing practice Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse License issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or a license issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state

Public Health Outreach & Education: Develop and deliver educational content (in-person, virtual, newsletters, webinars, workshops, etc.) on immunizations, communicable diseases, vaccine safety, and other key public health topics to citizens, schools, childcare centers, healthcare offices, and community partners Support Providers: Engage with new VFC providers and support their onboarding and training; ensure providers follow proper vaccine handling, documentation, and storage protocols; and educate on topics related to immunization recommendations, CDC immunization schedules, best practices for vaccine management and vaccine administration, and vaccine safety Immunization Services: Provides immunizations to children and adults in high volumes in clinic settings, community events, or in areas of need Lead the Team: Supervise a team by providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office or administrative setting where there is little to no substantial exposure to environmental conditions and requires standing and/or walking to a significant degree Ability to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible amounts constantly Must have reliable transportation and may require traveling to another location if coverage is needed Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete a background check Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
