Position

As a Production Manager you will provide leadership and direction to ensure efficient and uniform manufacturing operations that will meet customer expectations. You will develops policies, processes and systems that ensure a high level of quality, productivity and safety, while ensuring on time delivery of products.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead production team members in their daily activities.
  • Train, review, counsel, and discipline team members as necessary.
  • Provides direction and coordinates the operations of the manufacturing floor, and has consistent communication with other departments on needs, priorities and issues.
  • Organizes programs to plan, schedule, support, and improve manufacturing efforts and enhances value-add operations while reducing and eliminating non-value-added activities.
  • Maintain a production facility in which cleanliness, quality, and safety are second to none.
  • Leads regular communications with the team pertaining to company and department performance, with the goals of improving throughput and reducing waste.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops team to investigate the root cause for scrap and RMA issues; works with teams, including engineering and quality to establish corrective actions and prevent recurrences.
  • Reduces variation in the work environment. Develops standard work for departmental processes. Reviews work instructions through change request process with the goal of standardization.
  • Sets benchmarks and standards, and guides the improvement of quality standards of products produced in the shop.
  • Plans, develops, facilitates, and implements continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing. Ability to lead and motivate employees in continuous improvement efforts to improve safety, on-time delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop an engaged team of employees.
  • Communicate in a clear, approachable, professional and pro-active manner. Provide strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective.
  • Be creative, flexible and able to drive/guide change.
  • Ability to multi-task, follow through and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to develop and coach individuals to higher performance.
  • Provide strong operations thinking that moves the vision to successful implementation.
  • Previous supervision experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school education/GED or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience and training in lean manufacturing and leading kaizen events preferred.
