Your responsibilities

Position Summary: Ensure the day to day safe and efficient management of the production facility. Supervise and manage personnel employed in production related functions.

Essential Duties and Responsbilities:

  • Ensure all production targets are achieved, and appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure philosophy of continuous improvement is instilled on shop floor
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly reporting as required
  • Review the production situation and assign work to the machines
  • See that operators have the necessary materials, tools and instructions to set up and run the job
  • Move about the shop to assist and instruct
  • Ensure that personnel adhere to work instructions, procedures and standards relevant to productivity, quality, health, safety and environment
  • Interview applicants to fill production vacancies
  • Appraise, coach, counsel and discipline employees as necessary
  • Conduct and / or participate in the training of personnel

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Practice active listening
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Education Requirements:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and or training in a manufacturing environment.
