Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $94,160 - $124,762. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Quality III!

Manufacturing Quality Engineer III is responsible for managing quality-focused projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes and product reliability. This role acts as a liaison between manufacturing and quality teams, driving initiatives to enhance performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Improvement Projects: Lead and execute projects that address manufacturing quality issues and optimize processes.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, develop solutions, and track progress.
  • Problem Solving Support: Support major problem-solving efforts related to production quality, acting as a key contributor and knowledge source for the functions.
  • Customer Escape Containment: Contribute to customer escape containment and resolution activities by analyzing defects, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing quality.
  • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Reduction: Support efforts to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ), participating in production stop and stop-ship events, assisting with root cause analysis, and implementing corrective measures to enhance quality performance.
  • Documentation Review: Review prints and acceptance criteria for accuracy, assisting with defect identification, disposition, and deviation processes to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Quality Support & Collaboration: Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality[1]related issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures.
  • Metrics & Feedback Utilization: Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, driving data-driven decision-making across the company.
  • Team Support: Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team.
  • Industry Trends & Innovation: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant advancements into the company's approach to quality engineering.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of supporting large-scale quality improvement projects. Proven ability to solve quality problems and implement effective process improvements.
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.
  • Demonstrated experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
  • Good project management skills, able to successfully lead small project teams through challenges.
  • Sound organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Sound attention to detail with an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ.
