About the Opportunity:

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for supporting finance functions, including month-end close, payroll, travel and expense monitoring, and accounts payable; collaborates within the corporate finance team and regularly communicates and coordinates with other site finance teams and departments.

Location: Morton, IL

This role must be onsite at least 5 days/week

Responsibilities:

Under limited supervision:

  • Prepares journal entries and maintains the general ledger
  • Performs Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciles weekly payroll activity for the monthly bank reconciliation
  • Reconciles Perpetual Inventory to the general Ledger
  • Performs month-end close, including recurring journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supports consolidated Pursuit Aerospace month-end closing process
  • Supports in Year-End close & Audit
  • Assists in monitoring travel and expense, and employee credit cards
  • Participates in supporting ad hoc projects
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or a minimum of 4 years of relative accounting experience
  • Strong Excel experience, including v-lookup, index/match, pivot tables, sorting, filtering, and formatting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of financial reporting
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Ability to work independently and be part of a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
