Summary of the Job:

The IT Vendor Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with key IT vendors and suppliers. Information Technology Vendor Management (ITVM) will create a clear set of documented objectives for their organization around IT vendor risk, relationship, contract and performance management. This role involves managing vendor relationships in partnership with internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and driving vendor performance to meet the organization's strategic goals. The IT Vendor Manager plays a critical role in optimizing vendor partnerships to enhance IT service delivery and support organizational growth.

About This Role:

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the organization and key IT vendors.
  • Foster collaboration and communication between internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain an IT Vendor onboarding and offboarding programs.

Performance Management

  • Develop and implement vendor performance metrics and KPIs and build dashboards to help Management make informed decisions around vendor management.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance against SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Risk Management

  • Partner with Third Party Risk Management and Business Resumption Services to manage risk of IT vendors.
  • Create a playbook for vendor escalation and execute when risk scenarios are presented.

Strategic Planning

  • Align vendor management strategies with the organization's IT and business goals.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in vendor services, vendor rationalization, etc.
  • Champion IT Vendor Management and collaborate with IT leadership to develop long-term vendor management strategies.
  • Partner with Stakeholders to identify key vendor growth opportunities that best match their desired business outcomes.

Segment IT Vendors

  • Develop and maintain a segmentation model for the IT vendor portfolio.
  • Conduct vendor relationship health checks for strategic or critical vendors.

Financial Management

  • Track and report on vendor-related expenses and savings.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive cost optimization initiatives.

Procurement and Sourcing

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and select vendors that are mutual growth opportunities for solution expansion.
  • Participate in the vendor selection process, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs when appropriate.
  • Partner with procurement teams to monitor and improve contract terms, deliverables, and future improvements for contracts.

Issue Resolution/ Vendor Crisis Management

  • Address and resolve vendor-related issues and conflicts promptly.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for performance issues.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare regular reports on vendor performance, contract status, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on vendor performance data.

  • Risk Management: Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks associated with vendor relationships.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost management, and financial analysis.
  • Problem-Solving: Capacity to address and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related or business-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in vendor management, account management, or a related role.
  • 7-10 years related work experience.
  • Familiarity with software agreements, terms, conditions, SLAs.
  • Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
  • Proficiency in vendor management software and tools.
