General Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Central Schedule Coordinator to serve as the "air traffic controller" for physician, midlevel provider, equipment, and other scheduled clinical resources. This role is essential to ensuring patient access and timely care by proactively managing the availability of all scheduled clinical resources within a given specialty, across all sites of practice.

Under general supervision, the Central Schedule Coordinator will function as a centralized resource for both patients and referring physicians, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in scheduling practices and protocols. This position plays a critical role in standardizing scheduling operations, maintaining master schedules, and serving as the point of coordination for schedule requests and adjustments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor the availability of physicians, midlevel providers, equipment, and all other scheduled clinical resources to align with patient demand.

  • Act as a centralized resource for the specialty across all practice sites, ensuring standardized and consistent scheduling practices, protocols, and procedures.

  • Maintain and update master schedules for all clinical resources.

  • Track and report on provider clinic time, time away, and requests for schedule closures or alterations.

  • Prepare and maintain a variety of tracking reports to support scheduling transparency and efficiency.

  • Facilitate patient access by assisting referring physicians, patients, and staff with scheduling needs.

  • Communicate effectively across teams to proactively manage scheduling challenges and optimize


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School or equivalent is required. Associates degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a business office environment including experience with scheduling appointments and schedule maintenance.
  • Analytical ability required preparing physicians' schedules is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer applications in a PC and mainframe environment is preferred.
