The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a fulltime ABP board certified/eligible hematopathologist. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements are an MD or equivalent degree (D.O., MBBS, etc.), eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible in AP, CP or AP/CP, completion of an ACGME-accredited pathology residency training and a hematopathology fellowship program. This candidate will spend significant time on a busy hematopathology service. Clinical duties include morphologic interpretation of bone marrow biopsies, peripheral blood smears, body fluids, and lymph nodes/tissues as well as flow cytometric analysis of these specimens. Advanced training in multicolor flow cytometry with expertise in evaluation for minimal residual disease in myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms is desirable. For interested and qualified applicants, fellowship leadership opportunities may be available. Candidates will also participate in medical student, resident and fellow education, and are encouraged to pursue a research program that will lead to a national/international reputation of excellence. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research expertise. Preferred candidates will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty. The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is home to many anatomic and clinical pathology faculty as well as basic science faculty involved in research, undergraduate and graduate education. Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
