3rd Shift Supervisor- MHA(11pm-7:30am)

3rd Shift Supervisor -MHA:

He/she provides efficient and effective management and coordination of activities of assigned shift and supervises Mental Health Associates, Group Leads and Assistant Group Leads to assure the safety and security of the facility is maintained at all times. Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities when needed. Assists and monitors residents at all times to ensure resident and unit safety. Provides adequate staff supervision and escorts residents to and from the unit in a safe, orderly manner when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in psychology or other human services field preferred.
  • Prefer one year of experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Associate working with adolescents and/or adults. Experience in a residential setting is required.
  • AL Driver's License may be required to transport residents to/from appointments, hearings, etc.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels.
  • Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing and sitting. Must be able to lift, push and/or pull over fifty (50 lbs.) pounds. Must be able to assist residents from lying to seated position and from seated to standing position in a safe manner resulting in prevention of falls. Must be able to safely engage in physical interventions using upper and lower body strength as well as balance. Must be able to talk and hear to engage with residents, to facilitate group sessions, verbally de-escalate and perform other therapeutic interventions appropriate with the treatment plan. Must have visual acuity to appropriately monitor residents for safety. Subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker is required to function around behavioral health residents and is periodically exposed to infectious illnesses/diseases.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Residential Services.

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor provides efficient and effective management and coordination of activities of assigned shift and supervises Mental Health Associates, MHTs, and Hall Leads to assure the safety and security of the facility is maintained at all times.

Must be 19 years or older, and have a successful drug screen and background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
