Takes a leadership role in course development through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of classroom, laboratory, clinical and on-line instruction. Job Duties:
Develops and delivers EMS and AHA courses (EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, BLS, ACLS, PALS) following state and national guidelines. - Instructs in at least one BLS, ACLS, or PALS course
Provides high-quality instruction across cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains, applying adult learning principles and setting measurable goals. Mentors novice instructors and offers timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and success. Maintains accurate records and adapts teaching methods, times, and locations to meet student needs e). Exemplifies professional educator qualities including strong communication, organization, teamwork, and a commitment to student advocacy and customer service.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a University or Community College with a degree or certificate in an Emergency Care discipline (i.e.: EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO, MD, Law Enforcement).
If RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program. - Two years of experience providing Emergency Care in ones State of Wisconsin or Illinois Licensed level.
- Required certification applicable to training assigned (i.e. State of Wisconsin or Illinois Licensed Emergency Care Provider, or other applicable certification, such as EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO or MD)
State of Wisconsin or Illinois Certified EMS Instructor II or working toward completion preferred - CPR within 90 days
Certified American Heart Association Instructor in at least one level (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within 90 days - For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
