Assists in supervising, training, auditing and scheduling of Environmental Services (EVS) staff at Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH). Assists in the onboarding process to include completing rosters, and all orientation paperwork.
SCHEDULE:
  • Downtown Clinic: 555 N 30th St: Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10pm. Includes some weekend availability.
  • Residential Treament Center: 14092 Boys Town Hospital Road: Monday-Friday 12pm-8:30pm. Includes some weekend availability.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Assists EVS Leadership in coordinating responsibility over all Environmental Services personnel to include orienting, training, scheduling, reviewing work performed, and quality audits as required in adherence to all regulatory standards (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.)
  • Utilizes hospital approved chemicals according to manufacturer directions with appropriate PPE.
  • Oversee the day-to-day laundry par levels for the assigned BTNRH location. Supports completion of quarterly linen inventories.
  • Supports the supply chain process; places supply orders in conjunction with the Purchasing Department.
  • Prepares rooms that are planned for meetings, seminars, and other staff/client functions.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services department.
  • Completes all required training and competencies assigned.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and review work of Environmental Services personnel.
  • Ability to document and collect data.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all levels of staff and coworkers.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients, visitors and staff.
  • Ability to contribute to monthly staff meetings when requested to do so by the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Ability to meet with Surgery / Inpatient staff as requested.
  • Ability to work all shift schedules as needed.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel between BTNRH facilities across town as needed to cover for other locations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services procedures required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services procedures in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Environmental Services or Housekeeping preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Medium to heavy work, involving exerting 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently without assistance, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. In addition, requires the ability to stand up to six hours in an eight-hour work day, lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Subject to both environmental conditions, activities that occur inside and outside. The worker is occasionally subject to sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard. The worker is occasionally subject to vibration. Subject to a variety of hazards, such as proximity to moving parts. The worker is occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
