Position Summary:

Collaborates with internal GFS departments such as Strategic Procurement, Category Management, and Supply Chain to continuously review opportunities to transition volume from prepaid (delivered) to customer (GFS) pickup. Analyzes each opportunity to determine the feasibility and negotiates with the vendor in question directly to ensure GFS obtains most equitable freight allowance possible. Upon successfully negotiating, communicates the changes to vested GFS departments and facilitates the handoff to Capstone Operations for execution.

What you will do:

  • Collaborates with Procurement, Category, and Supply Chain to identify freight conversion opportunities from prepaid to customer pickup

  • Analyses and evaluates feasibility and profitability of conversion opportunities

  • Assists designing solutions that improves feasibility of conversions

  • Networks and negotiates with suppliers to establish favorable/equitable freight allowances for GFS

  • Maintains and provides reporting against conversion targets

  • Communicates freight basis changes to internal and external parties

  • Facilitates handoff to Capstone Operations team for execution.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

When you will work:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

  • Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day from home.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required.

  • Bachelor Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance or related field is preferred.

  • At least two years of procurement, supply chain, transportation, and/or logistics experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Must understand procurement/sourcing strategies. Basic understanding of freight management

  • Ability to negotiate and execute procurement strategies

  • Must demonstrate math and accounting aptitude.

  • Ability to compare/contrast, innovate, analyze, coordinate, and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.

  • Strong analytical skills, complemented with ability to articulate complex concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with various levels of employees, vendors and customers.

  • Teamwork, positively interact with others, strong relationship building and commitment to Cornerstone Value of Customer is King, honesty, integrity. Desire to take on a leadership role when necessary.

  • Self directed, focused, ability to prioritize, discretion, decision making, fluctuations in workload.

  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of supply chain management and foodservice industry.

  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email and internet software applications.

  • Advanced Excel knowledge/skill required.

  • Report generation capabilities preferred.
