Salary:

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $220k - $240k per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire's experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Your Responsibilities:

The Senior Controller plays a key leadership role in overseeing the accounting activities of FUCHS' operating companies across North and South America. This position combines hands-on financial management with strategic oversight, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, operational efficiency, and a high-performance team culture. This position reports to the Vice President of Accounting and Finance.

Financial Management & Reporting



  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and GAAP.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams managing general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxes, and fixed assets.
  • Oversee month-end close, account reconciliations, and intercompany procedures for entities in the US, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
  • Ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality completion of all financial close processes with a proactive, hands-on approach.



Internal Controls & Compliance



  • Maintain, strengthen, and evolve internal controls to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in external audits, serving as a key liaison with auditors to ensure smooth and successful audit outcomes.



Strategic & Operational Support



  • Deliver clear financial analysis and actionable insights to support strategic business initiatives and decision-making.
  • Identify, drive, and implement process improvements, automation, and digital solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Play a key role in major finance-related projects, including the global ERP upgrade to SAP S/4HANA.



Leadership

  • Align departmental objectives with corporate strategy, fostering professional development, mentoring talent, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Communicate financial results effectively to stakeholders and influence decision-making across the organization.



Qualifications we are looking for:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a major company or division of a large corporation.
    • At least 5 years of proven leadership experience.
    • Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.


  • Technical Expertise:

    • Deep knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and related accounting standards.
    • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Familiarity with automation trends and digital transformation in finance.


  • Leadership Skills: Resilience, emotional intelligence, change leadership, and a proven ability to build trust and drive organizational improvement.
