Part-time Research Interventionist - Psychiatry - Adult Division - Merwin Lab

The part-time research interventionist position (approximately 10 hrs/week) will administer a 12-session protocol based on the ADA Type 1 Diabetes Self-Care Manual and the ADCES7 Self-Care Behaviors protocol to individuals with type 1 diabetes and eating disorders, attend a multi-site interventionist meeting for consultation/supervision and complete associated documentation. Sessions are a combination of in-person and virtual visits.

Minimum Requirements:

One of the following is required:



  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of an Associate's degree plus a minimum of two years' experience providing diabetes education as a certified diabetes educator


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with type 1 diabetes and some familiarity with eating disorders is preferred


Other Requirements:



  • Can easily use computing software and web-based applications (e.g., Microsoft Office products and internet browsers)

Position Description:



  • Administer protocol-based therapy to participants in a clinical trial: 12 session protocol, hybrid in-person and virtual visits).
  • Complete associated documentation according to protocol and study's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Attend quarterly interventionist meeting
  • Follow intervention protocols for counseling and data collection/intervention-related documentation.
  • May participate in the ongoing evaluation of behavioral research intervention delivery and adherence.
  • Follow evaluation protocols by conducting tasks such as clinical interviews and intervention.
  • Document encounters
  • May screen, schedule, consent, and collect adverse event information for participants.
  • May prepare documents, equipment, or supplies for research visits.

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 59,829.00 to USD $97,920.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
