Summary:

Nisga'a TEK, LLC is looking for a Warrant Officer Track Vehicle Instructor to supervise vehicle maintenance checks, train new drivers, manage Army driver sustainment training programs, and enforce vehicle operator safety standards. This person will support the Army Logistics University, Fort Lee, Virginia. Its mission is to provide academic and tactical training services and support to the schools, colleges, the Directorate of Academic Affairs and Operations, and the ALU Support Battalion.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Motor Transport Operator SSGs plan, organize and execute convoy operations, conduct route reconnaissance, command convoys, supervise self-recovery operations, and oversee distribution operations
  • Motor Transport Operators gain a variety of experiences through institutional and home station training, and combat training center exercises
  • Teach, plan, organize, and execute field maintenance of wheeled and light tracked vehicles, self-propelled artillery systems, and fire control, armament, ground support, and powered driven chemical equipment.
  • Diagnose, tests, and analyzes malfunctions of unit equipment. Directs the establishment and operation of unit shop stock lists for field repair and maintenance related operations. Prepares readiness reports.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Shall understand electronic control module logic, as well as principle/theory of Controller Area Network Data Bus (CAN/BUS) network
  • Shall possess knowledge of the 2500, 3700, and 4500 series Allison transmission, advanced knowledge of Caterpillar 3126B, C7 engines, as well as the Banks engine, and knowledge of nitrogen charge suspension components, as well as Height Management System
  • Shall have the ability to troubleshoot and repair field level faults that are identified on Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV), Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT A4), and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) trainers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Skilled in operating all classes of wheeled vehicles, manage fleets, and lead sections/squads
  • Ability to facilitate training and speak effectively before both groups and individuals

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience and experience in 91A, 91B, 91M or 91S MOS' as evidenced by possessing one (1) of the following: 1) a certificate in the aforementioned 91 series MOS; OR 2) a DD Form 214 that states trained in the aforementioned 91 Series MOS. The Contractor shall have experience at the level of SGT or above; WOBC Graduate preferred. The Contractor shall have a minimum of three (3) years each of technical and tactical experience on the following platforms: Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTV), Palletized Load System (PLS), as well as High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) family of vehicles to include the suspension systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, fire extinguisher/suppression systems and vehicular armament and associated items. The Contractor shall be able to lead students through electrical schematic trace of cranking circuit on multiple platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field
