The Senior Regulatory Specialist supports daily customer-facing regulatory compliance activities by leveraging expertise in key regulations and maintaining product regulatory systems, including EH&S modules such as global food contact data integrity and compliance reviews. Collaborating with technical, sales, and cross-functional teams, this position addresses compliance-related product formulation needs, ensures accurate documentation-such as GMP records-and oversees Healthcare Compliance reviews, Drug Master Files, and Access letters. The role actively reviews and interprets upcoming regulatory changes, develops strategies to ensure ongoing compliance for finished goods and formulations, and plays a key part in monitoring regulatory developments impacting Avient's products regionally.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Focus on regional products and support globally.

  • Apply knowledge of hazard communication regulations (such as NBR 14725:2023 and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008) including SDS, and label authoring. Draft and maintain SDS for non-prime materials and support manual SDS development

  • Utilize EH&S modules to extract data for customer inquiries and internal reports.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of global regulations such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA, food contact standards (FDA, EU, China GB, Japan PL, Anvisa and other international regulations), cosmetics and pharmaceutical packaging.

  • Generate metrics and reports to support compliance tracking.

  • Assist in the implementation and upkeep of Product Stewardship procedures and regulatory documentation across business units.

  • Support documentation of internal processes and contribute to process improvement efforts.

  • Participate in compliance assessments and help identify emerging regulatory requirements; assist with stakeholder communications.

  • Update and maintain Product Stewardship systems with current information; provide user training and support for system changes.

  • Provide support as needed to EH&S Product Stewardship Managers on specialty areas.

  • Contribute to team initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Physical/Environ. Demands

Requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time, talking and listening. Must be able to walk and use hands. Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate. Occasionally work is in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is loud.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (usually Chemistry or similar).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and confident in using data analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel, to support decision-making and innovation
