The salary range for this position is $107,100-$232,100. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See Professor and Professor of Teaching Series - Business/Economics/Engineering/ICS Scales - Academic Year. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Department of Computer Science in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured assistant, associate, or full professor position starting July 1, 2026. This faculty search targets applicants with a research expertise in Computer Systems, focusing on but not limited to Computer Architecture, Databases, Operating Systems, Compilers, Storage, and DistributedSystems/Cloud.

One of only five computing-focused schools among Association of American Universities (AAU) members, UC Irvine's Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences is home to the departments of Computer Science, Informatics, and Statistics. The School's mission is to lead innovation in human-centered information and computing technologies, understand their economic and social significance, and develop an educated workforce to further advance technology. With approximately 4,000 undergraduates, 600 master's students, 400 doctoral students, 100 faculty members, and 85 staff, the School is the largest computing program within the UC system and one of the largest in the nation, providing exceptional opportunities for discovery and learning in all areas of information and computer sciences.

The Department of Computer Science has over 50 faculty members including an NAE Member, 15 ACM Fellows, 13 IEEE Fellows, 15 AAAS Fellows, and multiple AAAI Fellows, IFIP Fellows, and Academia Europea Members. Computer Science at UC Irvine is ranked at #16 by CSRankings in Systems (2015-2025) and the 2025 US News and World Report ranks UC Irvine as a top 10 public university.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely-related field. Their Ph.D. must be completed by the date of appointment.
