Job Summary

The Payroll Tax Associate is primarily responsible for compliance and filing with local, state, federal, and foreign regulations in an accurate and timely manner within the Company's HR Shared Services organization.


Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values".
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics".
  • Calculates and reports payroll tax liabilities, to include the filing of all local, state, federal, and foreign payroll tax returns for the Company.
  • Assists division personnel in resolving payroll tax problems and questions.
  • Responds to questions and special requests from employees, management, or regulatory agencies regarding the Company's payroll tax practices.
  • Reconciles payroll-related general ledger accounts, as needed.
  • Ensures timely reconciliation of all related payroll tax liability accounts.
  • Performs additional duties as required or assigned, including assisting on special projects and performing various business and financial analysis duties, as needed.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience with multi-state tax experience and federal tax; some college preferred.
  • General knowledge and understanding of payroll tax laws, both federal and state.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information in a discreet manner.
  • Strong analytical skills; excellent detail-orientation and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Will require occasional overtime/weekend work.
