Senior Systems Engineer

This position is contingent upon contract award.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Systems Engineer designs, implements, and manages complex system architecture and provides expert advice and counsel, often bridging functional/organizational lines. Duties include:

  • Designing major systems and applications and coordinating work on subsystems
  • Overseeing the integration of new applications with established systems and files
  • Evaluating utilization to identify modifications that will facilitate integration, increase efficiency and/or reduce costs
  • Investigating new procedures to determine their usefulness and applicability to operations
  • Creating systems analysis standards and provide consultative direction to programmers, software engineers, and operations personnel in the planning and operation of projects
  • Coordinating and integrating system and subsystem activities on project teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Fifteen years of progressively responsible experience designing, developing, documenting, integrating, implementing, and maintaining successful IT systems, ten years of which were engineering cloud-based systems
  • Experience implementing systems based on web services that utilize established Internet and web service standards such as SOAP and WSDL.
  • Five years' experience in DevSecOps
  • Strong oral and written communications, including developing systems architecture documentation
  • Experience with Oracle Database (7/8/9i/10g/11)
  • Experience with Agile practices and processes
  • Must be USC/GC/EAD and eligible for public trust clearance.

EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate college degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, or other discipline related to the requirements of this project.
  • AWS Architect Professional Certification (or equivalent) with experience with cloud services
