Computer Systems Engineer

THE POSITION

The One 23 Group is seeking a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to join the team. In this role, the ideal candidate will assist in designing, implementing, and managing VMware and Azure cloud-based solutions in support of Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). The role requires experience with Data Centers, Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, VMware, Microsoft Azure, and operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Unix.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize on-premises and cloud services.
• Plan, manage, support, and oversee DeCA's Azure PaaS/IaaS environment, including migrations.
• Recommend solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Apply best practices to guide decisions, evaluate alternatives, and provide recommendations.
• Ensure high availability and performance in the Azure environment.
• Support use and adoption of the Azure portal and Azure-specific technologies.
• Provide enterprise infrastructure and Storage Area Network (SAN) support, including full lifecycle management of Data Center hardware and software-covering operating systems, applications, physical and virtual servers, virtual machines, and SAN devices-as well as planning, analysis, integration, testing, implementation, operations, maintenance, information assurance, cybersecurity, and decommissioning of Data Center components.
• Assess and balance risks to meet organizational objectives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Hybrid role in Fort Gregg-Adams, VA.

• Minimum Active Secret Security Clearance; AND,
• Active DoD 8140/8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT-II) CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent; AND,
• 1+ years of experience in an Azure support role within a large-scale organization; AND,
• 1+ years of experience with VMware, customer support, and system administration, including virtual application delivery and SAN solutions in Microsoft Azure and VMware environments (Linux, Unix, Windows); AND,
• Experience documenting and supporting build and configuration changes across environments; AND,
• Knowledge of industry-standard systems architecture, management concepts, and tools; AND,
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting medium to large complex systems; AND,
• Proficient with ticketing systems (e.g., BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Ivanti); AND,
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED:

• Must possess, or be willing to obtain within six months of hire, an active certification in the relevant computing environment.
