Workiva is seeking a Director of Field Marketing to lead the U.S. Field Marketing team as a strategic, hands-on leader driving and executing initiatives that directly accelerate sales growth and customer engagement. This critical role will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive field marketing strategies that align with our overall business objectives and sales goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the SaaS landscape, a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams, and expertise in leveraging various marketing channels to drive demand and engage target accounts.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement regional field marketing plans that align with overall business objectives and sales goals. This includes identifying target audiences, understanding regional market trends, and setting measurable goals.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of field marketers, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting their professional development.

  • Pipeline Generation: Drive demand generation and pipeline acceleration through the planning and execution of a variety of field marketing programs, such as regional events (e.g., executive roundtables, workshops, trade shows, webinars), direct mail campaigns, and localized content initiatives. Manage events from concept to post-event follow-up.

  • Budget Management: Manage the regional field marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and tracking ROI for all initiatives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales, product marketing, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of marketing and sales efforts and maximize impact.

  • Measurement and Optimization: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all field marketing activities. Analyze results, identify areas for improvement, and optimize strategies for continuous enhancement.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about regional industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform marketing strategies and identify new opportunities.

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies as needed to support field marketing initiatives within the region.

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with an emphasis on field marketing, demand generation or closely related field

  • Experience in the B2B technology and/or SaaS industry

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years direct people management experience

  • Proven track record in supporting Sales, Product, and/or Marketing teams at a mid-to-large scale multi-geographical organization and ability to pivot strategies as needed

  • Proven track record of developing marketing strategy, managing systems and processes and overseeing media budgets

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance

  • Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to convey complex ideas and data to diverse audiences in written, spoken, and presentation formats

  • Highly motivated, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and adaptable to changing market and organizational needs

  • Familiarity with end-to-end event operations and experience working with top-level executives and speakers is preferred

  • Proficient in marketing automation, web analytics, business intelligence tools, and budget management

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

Working Conditions &Travel Requirement

  • Up to 40% to meet with teams in other offices, vendors, and/or suppliers, attend events

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office

How You'll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $154,000.00 - $250,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
