Description

The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. This position maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

About Us: Ecumen Prairie Hill and Ecumen Sand Prairie in St. Peter, Minnesota are hiring a Dining Assistant. Sand Prairie offers 42 assisted living apartments, while Prairie Hill includes 43 independent and assisted living apartments, plus 20 memory care residences. Schedule Options:



  • Part-Time. Combo of shifts 7:30a-2p, 8a-2:30p and 4-7p. 20 hours scheduled every 2 weeks. Every other weekend and holiday rotation.
  • On Call - pick up shifts as they become available.



Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $17.00 - $19.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:




  1. Provides friendly, responsive service to residents, families, and guests.



  2. Serves meals according to diet orders, portion sizes, and proper temperatures, following all regulations.



  3. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area; labels, dates, and rotates food and supplies.



  4. Completes opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties.



  5. Reports any changes in residents' health to a supervisor.



  6. Responds to resident requests or concerns and notifies the supervisor as needed.



  7. Works well with others and supports the team in a dynamic environment.



  8. Assists with special events or functions as needed.



  9. Respects and properly uses facility property and supplies.



  10. Performs other duties as assigned.





Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Must be 15 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations



Preferred Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Commercial kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Previous senior care experience
  • Serv Safe or other food safety and sanitation training/certification
