Position Title:Naval Architect Intern

Location: Metairie, LA

Position Overview:We are seeking a motivatedNaval Architect Intern currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in naval architecture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and contributing to the team while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist with general office tasks, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Support the Engineering department by preparing information and conducting research.
  • Collaborate with company personnel across departments to support project objectives.
  • Perform structural calculations and weight take-offs.
  • Assist in the development of 2D drawings and 3D modeling.
  • Create and analyze models using GHS (General Hydrostatics) software.
  • Participate in incline experiments and deadweight surveys.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Naval Architecture.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.


This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, allowing students to develop industry-relevant skills, expand their professional network, and contribute meaningfully to Bollinger's Engineering department.
