Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Team Lead Level II to join our production operations group in assembling and testing world-class drones. As a critical member of the PDW leadership team, you will play an active role in the day-day manufacturing activities and initiatives that result in high-quality products.

As a PDW Electro-Mechanical Assembly Team Lead Level II, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class drone experts, assemble cutting-edge aircraft, and grow with the company. PDW team leads are a critical element in implementing and supporting the organizations high manufacturing execution standards and providing leadership to its core assembly workforce.

What You'll Do


  • The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking abilities with a high focus on safety, product quality and on-time delivery
  • Oversee, support, and coordinate assembly of drone electro-mechanical sub-systems and final assemblies including technical experience including harnesses, provisioning, embedded, and battery chargers
  • Coordination with production management, material handling, quality, design engineering, and test flight operations to ensure product quality, line continuity, and efficiency
  • Ensure PDW assemblers are trained and utilizing work instructions, critical to quality product characteristics, oversight for cross training, and adherence to established quality and work standards
  • Coordinate execution of production to ensure quality product for on-time delivery to customers.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to implement engineering changes and new products by partnering closely with technical team, production control, supply chain, and manufacturing engineering
  • Oversee and coordinate the service and rework of products as necessary
  • Direct management and elevation of issues, problems, and progress and partner with solutioning
  • Ensure continuous improvement awareness and willingness to collaborate to improve processes
  • High level of proficiency and ability to train technicians on Electrical Testing including harnesses


Requirements


  • 2 - 4 years experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing environment or equivalent
  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering preferred
  • Proven experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician performing work on complex assemblies, assembling and troubleshooting drones, vehicles, or aircrafts is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated reliability, willingness to learn, ability to navigate calmly stressful situations, and a proactive approach to solving problems with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and non-conformance reporting (NCR)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and technical documentation with understanding of procedures and the ability to follow them precisely
  • A keen eye for detail working with small parts, assemblies, fasteners, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products


Preferred

  • Knowledge of Lean principles such as 5S, line balancing, problem solving, Kanban, waste elimination, visual factory, SQDC board management, etc.
  • Experience with governmental inventory and manufacturing standards and operations including ITAR, DFAR, and FAR basic understanding (DoD preferred)
  • Exposure to, or experience in, an ISO9001-2015 / AS9100 quality environment


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.


  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, with occasional heavier lifting
  • Employee must be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods, as well as push, pull, and maneuver carts and packages
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for handling


Work Environment

This position typically operates in a standard manufacturing and warehouse environment including:


  • Operates primarily in a professional, climate-controlled office, warehouse, manufacturing and shipping environment. At times, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, ESD smocks, ESD wrist straps, goggles, and hearing protection may be required.
  • Employee will also work outdoors as applicable, where they may be exposed to the elements, including heat, rain, and cold.
  • Standard hours are Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM, with occasional overtime as operational needs may require.
  • Fast paced environment with quick response to design engineering technical guidance to ensure assembly procedures meet design intent and quality requirements.


ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
