Description
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of laboratory tasks and production processes. Preparation, formulation, and packaging of reagents and products in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety protocols. This role supports the daily operations of the manufacturing team, ensuring consistent and accurate production of high-quality materials.
Works on assignments that are routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
Primary Duties:
- Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of Biomerieux Quality System.
- Maintains records in compliance with regulatory requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to follow written instructions and SOPs with high attention to detail.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established written guidelines to perform job functions.
- Manufactures components according to electronic batch records and SOPs.
- Proficient in the use and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Training, Education & Experience:
- High School Graduate or GED required
- A Bachelor's degree, or working towards a degree, in Chemistry, BioChemisty, or Biology is preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in a lab setting and work requiring cGMP is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in math, specifically unit conversions.
- Good oral/written communication, pipetting/liquid handling of multiple volumes.
- Maintain attention to detail for extended periods of time.
- Execute repetitive tasks and maintain high level of consistency over time.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods (2+ hours at a time).
- Aiblity to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50lbs in all directions.
