Job Description

YOUR OPPORTUNITY


We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Specialist to support our overnight C shift plant operations team. The human resources specialist will have administrative and strategic responsibilities and assist with essential functions such as auditing for compliance, data entry, labor relations, and customer service. Additionally, this position will handle issues related to employee relations, compensation, food, and workplace safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Audits system records for compliance, following up with HR/Plant management to ensure records are corrected timely.


  • Conduct investigations and issue low-level discipline when applicable.
  • Works within established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.


  • Resolves questions/concerns of employees by providing information on processes and the related policies and referring to others where necessary for policy interpretation.
  • Using clear and effective communication, building effective working relationships within the organization, and delivering high-quality professional/customer-centered service with guidance from management.
  • Prepares or maintains employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Performs basic clerical tasks, including answering phones, data entry, scanning, and copying to ensure employee files are maintained accurately.
  • Develop your knowledge and capabilities through formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Any tasks, special projects, or duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required:



  • High school graduate.
  • High level of maturity, self-directedness, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Microsoft Office suite skills; Excel and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including presentations.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office suite; ADP or similar HRIS



SCHEDULE



  • 5:00 pm to 2:00 am
  • Eligible for shift differential.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Primarily an office environment with some exposure to the plant production floor.
  • While performing the duties of this job on the production floor, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions and may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment depends on which environment you are working in and if the area requires hearing protection.
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
