Job Summary As a Senior Electronics Engineer II, you will be a part of the R&D engineering team, directly contributing to the design and implementation of the instrumentation for the electronic hardware utilized in our medical devices. Duties & Responsibilities
- Design ownership and oversee the engineering life cycle of hardware including architecture, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
- Development of systems and printed circuit boards
- PCB layout and schematic entry
- Perform and oversee hardware verification testing
- Perform electrical design calculations
- Project scheduling/estimation
- Defining project performance requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 8 years of industry experience with product-level development
- Ability to articulate problems and solutions
- Good communicator with cross-functional team members (ME, SW, PMO)
- Familiar with product development cycle (concept-to-production)
- Ability to describe electrical systems in a block diagram format and also dive into details of each functional block
- Experience with designing and troubleshooting Analog circuits
- Developing code using C for embedded systems for board bring-up
- Experience with embedded firmware development using ST, Nordic, Atmel, Renesas, or other 32-bit ARM processors
- Experience with schematic capture tools: PADS, OrCAD, Altium
- Experience with electrical simulation software tools: Multisim, PSPICE, TINA
- Basic knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, USB)
- Experience with either overseeing or designing PCB layout
- Able to generate design-related documentation for project deliverables
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Master's Degree with at least 5 years of experience
- Ability to work onsite Monday - Friday in Irvine, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with designing for compliance to IEC 60601-1
- RF Design/Testing experience
- Medical device or biomedical device background
- Experience with integrating radio solutions in the BLE, WiFi spectrum
- Experience in designing for EMC compliance and troubleshooting EMC problems
- Experience in developing products in a regulated environment (Avionics, Space, DoD)
- Experience with electrical design for wearable electronics
- Multi-domain troubleshooting in Analog, Digital, and RF portions of designs
- Basic experience with Matlab
- Experience with designing for Signal Integrity
- Experience in interfacing to sensors (Pressure, temperature, humidity)
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
