SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This leadership position is responsible for the oversight and direction of product managers assigned to the business segment along with developing, planning, and implementing the business segment's marketing strategy. The role serves as the strategic owner of the segment by driving market insights into actionable strategies, shaping portfolio direction, and enabling commercial execution. This role will work cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D, Regulatory, Sales, and other key stakeholders to ensure solutions meet the evolving needs of clinical laboratories, diagnostic developers, and partners worldwide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
1.Provide leadership to the product management and marketing and business analysis teams by ensuring appropriate structures, systems, competencies, and values are developed to meet and exceed the goals of the marketing plan and support overall corporate objectives, strategic marketing, lifecycle management, and market-driven innovation.
2.Lead teams by handling recruitment activities, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and overall directing activities to ensure a productive, collaborative team environment.
3.Develop annual and long-term marketing plans for strategic market and product planning, market research programs, field activities, and budget activities for new and exiting products by working collaboratively with key stakeholders utilizing market intelligence gathered through voice of customer, market analysis, product management, technical services, sales, and other customer facing input sources. Marketing plans will also identify market risks, competitive analysis, distinctive competitive advantage, market maps, and market growth outlines.
4.Lead team through market research analysis and evaluation to make appropriate adjustments to marketing strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions as it relates to the business segment.
5.Develop marketing information for business segment leaders, leadership team, and portfolio management members to provide direction from development, modification, to end-of-life product activities.
6.Ensure that competitive product and marketing activities are monitored on an on-going basis and communicated effectively to appropriate stakeholders within the organization.
7.Drive and support team's work related to pricing, positioning, forecasting, regulatory, branding, packaging, and communicating vision and goals of products on both a long and term basis. Perform qualification, quantification, and monetization of total market opportunity, market entry points, CAGR percentage and monetary growth for initial five-year product lifecycle and beyond.
8.Provide oversight, management, and accountability for all product and brand campaign management, activities, initiatives, marketing communication, and advertising content. Collaborate with marketing brand members to ensure content messaging and positioning is on point, in compliance, and aligned with organizational goals, requirements, and brand strategy.
9.Prepare and present marketing reports on routine basis for the Director of Business Segment and Chief Commercial Officer on a routine, established basis.
10.Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelor's or master's degree in life science, marketing, or related business discipline with marketing focus in product management. Advanced degree like MBA or additional college education is preferred.
*Minimum of ten years of previous marketing experience with progressive responsibility in product management, product planning, or marketing analysis is required. Minimum of five years at the management level required.
*Previous work experience within the life sciences industry is required.
*Experience in managing teams of multiple disciplines in marketing or sales is preferred.
*Strong background in market analysis, product management, or life-cycle management.
*Self-starter with a high sense of ownership and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL DEMANDS:
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
Travel demands for this position are estimated up to 20%. If travel is required, this travel may include customer visits, events/trade shows, and completion of presentations primarily throughout Domestic US or International regions. Employees must comply with all travel recommendations regarding "safe travel" according to company policies and guidelines, and all federal, state, local, and international orders.

**PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This also includes standing for up to two and a half hours consecutively, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, stooping, fingering, and grasping. Expressing and receiving detailed information through written and oral communication. Also has an ability to make sound, appropriate, and prompt decisions within the guidelines of the role.
