Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the sterile processing department in a healthcare facility.

Essential Functions
-Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department, including staffing, workflow management, and resource allocation.
-Ensure the timely receipt, inspection, decontamination, and processing of instruments and equipment from the operating rooms or other departments.
-Monitor and maintain compliance with sterilization standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
-Coordinate and manage the inventory of sterile supplies, including receiving, inspecting, restocking, and tracking items.
-Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to sterile processing technicians.
-Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure instrument availability and meet patient care needs.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred

Experience
Experience as a Central Sterile Technician, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of sterile processing principles, practices, and infection control standards.
- Proficiency in handling instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used in sterile processing.
